The band had only formed two years prior but had already released two EPs. They had quickly signed with Creation Records in the UK and A&M in the US, touring in both places and garnering fans. Raise featured some songs from the band's previously revealed EPs. Swervedriver toured on it immediately. The intense schedule created a schism in the band and the lineup changed quickly.
